Guildmaster's day

It's almost like a job

I see many people forming guilds after hitting level 5 just to try it out. You should however think about it a little. I’m going to try and count the stuff you should be doing daily or weekly. Guild is as active as the leaders who are running it. Therefore you should be logged in a fair amount of time – not just playing but:

  • Doing guild wars. Although the „old way” of being in wars got people tuned in much more, the new way allows fair amount of excitement as well. Trash talking to others after the war, mad scramble to recover health, follow-up attacks to recover some lost gold etc. Guildmasters role is finding suitable-beatable enemies, organizing health recovery (putting food to guild warehouse for example), dealing with the aftermath. Quite a bit to be honest.
  • Guild money and building management. This is fairly new feature and provides guildmasters and admins plenty to think about. How do you protect money from being taken away during guild wars? What building should we build next? Using excel spreadsheets figuring it out can takes tons of time from guildmasters day.
  • Recruiting. Once you reach certain barrier, recruitment gets easier and you can actually spend some time finding the best possible candidates for your guild. Believe it or not, my notes have been full of info on prospects – you will not remember all people or what you talked with them, so its wise to take notes. Again – this is something that takes time.

You got time? Go ahead and start a guild, it can be lots of fun. It makes absolutely no sense however if you just want to play a little during working or school hours.
